Rebecca Harms,
Green Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and Co-President of the Euronest
Parliamentary Assembly, will travel to Ukraine with an official delegation of
the European Parliament for the 8th Parliamentary Association Committee summit
taking place in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kyiv.
The delegation programme will focus amongst other topics on the progress and
impact of the decentralisation reform, anti-corruption reforms and the economic
situation in the region. The MEPs together with Ukrainian MPs will meet local
and regional authorities in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as
representatives of minorities, local entrepreneurs and civil society activists.
Rebecca Harms will also meet with environmentalists from the Carpathian region
to discuss the Lwiw Nature Protection project. In Kyiv the delegation has
scheduled meetings with President Poroshenko, Prime Minister Groysmann and
Minister for Foreign Affairs Klimkin.
On Thursday, 20 September Rebecca Harms will participate in the second edition of the public conference about the Implementation of Anti-Corruption Reforms in Ukraine – this time taking place in the Verhovna Rada. (For further details and registration please follow this link.)
