Rebecca Harms, Member of the European Parliament, will travel to Istanbul on 2 May to observe the trial of cameraman Kemal Demir and co-worker Kemal Karagöz. On 3 May, she will participate in events commemorating the World Press Freedom Day. Further talks will take place with journalists, lawyers and representatives of press associations and organisations advocating for press freedom in Turkey. Rebecca Harms also plans to meet representatives of HDP to discuss the situation of the hunger strikers.
