The Euronest delegation has today (2nd Feb) elected
its new Co-Chair , former Co-President of the Greens/EFA group, Rebecca Harms.
She takes over the role from fellow Greens/EFA MEP, Heidi Hautala.
Commenting on the focus of her future work as Co-Chair, Rebecca Harms said:
"The main idea of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly is to enhance and
deepen the exchange and cooperation between members of the five parliaments.
Together with my Co-Chair, Marian Lupu from Moldova, I will work hard to
further develop this process. The cooperation can and shall contribute to the
secure and democratic development of the Eastern partnership. It serves not
only the security of the region in Eastern Europe but also the whole continent.
I have to thank my colleague Heidi Hautala for her close cooperation with civil
society during her time as Co-Chair. I will continue this close working and
hope to also cultivate good relations with the Civil Society Forum."
