Elections in Ukraine: Rebecca Harms head of European Parliament Election Observation Mission

Dear Journalists,

in Ukraine, the second round of presidential elections in Ukraine will take place on Sunday 21 April.

Rebecca Harms, Eastern Europe expert and Member of the European Parliament, will travel to Kyiv on Thursday 18 April to lead the European Parliament Election Observation Mission, which is organised in co-operation with OSCE/ODIHR.

Rebecca Harms plans to attend the debate between the two presidential candidates on Friday evening. On Saturday, there are meetings scheduled with the long-term observers, the presidential candidates, the members of the Electoral Commission, and representatives of the press, media and civil society. On Sunday, Rebecca Harms will visit polling stations in Kyiv.

The joint press conference of the Heads of Delegation of the OSCE/ODIHR and Rebecca Harms to present the preliminary post-election statement is scheduled for Monday 22 April at 15h00 in Kiev at the Hotel InterContinental (Velyka Zhytomyrska St, 2A, Kyiv, Ukraine, 01001).
