On Friday 9th March, the trial against the journalists of the Cumhuriyet newspaper, among them investigative journalist Ahmet Şık, will continue in the court building of the prison in Silivri.
As in previous trials, Greens/EFA MEP Rebecca Harms will be in courtroom to monitor it, following the invitation of the defendants' families, their colleagues and lawyers.
Despite the joy following the recent release of the German-Turkish journalist Deniz Yücel, this process, like many others, shows that we are a long way from returning to normal relations with Turkey.
